The book “Insight Coaching” has been out a couple of weeks now. I’m turning my attention to the next writing project. At the moment, it’s not settled. I always go through a phase where I am drifting between a few different projects – new ideas, half written ones and previously abandoned ones. I’m a firm believer that sometimes the timing is everything to following up on any particular idea.
This time the projects that are drifting in and out of focus for me are:
– The Journey to Wonder. This is the book about “Inspiration” and is already half written. I am so keen to get on with this and finish it. This may be the one that gets my energy for a while. It’s book three in the “Concepts Series’ that began with Values Count.
– alice reimagined. This new book of poems builds on an earlier collection called “the alice conversations”. I’ve been writing new material for this over the last month. It’s about two thirds there – and I am really fired up by the concept, building upon Jung’s concept of the Anima.
– foundlings. I want to edit and partly rewrite the collection of sonnets that I wrote in the 1990s. They were developed from found words in magazines, books and newspapers. They are the second collection of poems about Blue. My book “Blue: Experiments in Sound” which came out in 2017 was the fourth collection.
– The Flower Book. This hasn’t got a proper title yet. I’ve talked about it on the blog before. It’s inspired by the work of Edward Burne-Jones. It’s a collaborative book with June, and will be underpinned by thinking about “Intuition”. This will be the fourth book in the ‘Concepts Series’ of books.
There are at least three other book ideas that are in early stages too, too early to share any detail of those. It’s the stage of writing that calls for openness, divergence – until something grasps my attention and pulls me into one of these manuscripts until it is finished. I’m excited about the Concepts Series which feels like it’s a good way to capture the themes from my work over recent decades underpinned by my learning and core approaches to all that I do. And the poetry books are coming together into really coherent ideas too. Soon I will feel the pull of one in particular and then it will be a dash to completion.
