Turning LAN into FLAN

I wrote a post a few weeks ago about three principles which I have developed to help me to figure out the best arrangement for hosting and locating the work that I lead as the NHS goes through changes in the coming months.
Just to recap, the three principles are:
- Legitimacy
- Authority
- Neutrality
These are all essential principles which ensure that we are able to maximise our impact.
As I have been thinking some more about this in the last week or so, it has struck me that there is another important principle which ensures that we are able to be as innovative, entrepreneurial and opportunistic as we have been. That is:
- Flexibility
Without a flexible hosting environment we will not be able to experiment and take risks in the way we have to date.
