Live and online, after a fallow period. Blog posts have been eluding me for a while now. In an attempt to overcome the blockages I’ve been engaged in a daily habit – it began as 500 words a day, and developed into 600 words a day as I eased into it. 40,000 words written since February. Sounds impressive but it is just words. It isn’t a manuscript; it’s not something that I can share as it is the minutiae of the obsessions of my mind. All the stuff that creeps out when I write in a private space. But it has certainly helped me to get writing again.
No blog posts for a while, because the process had become too precious. I was looking for the excellent post, the one to stop the pause. In a search for inspiration I browsed back through old posts on this blog to see if that helped. Of course it didn’t – if you want to be sure to freeze yourself, look at your past work. Stuck. Frozen. Going round in circles with the same nonsense.
Instead, I think it is probably best to start with a humble few words that make suggestions for the way forwards from here. A rambling post that just sets out what I am working on at the moment (and why it is taking so long).
I have loads of book ideas in the melting pot at the moment. I’ve written about some of them here in the past. They include the following which are underway with the following working titles:
- Insight Coaching: from values to action
- The Journey to Wonder
- alice reimagined
Each of these is easing its way forwards. The coaching book is in outline and is the book I am most active on at the moment. The Journey to Wonder has been mentioned here quite a bit. It’s over half way, and just needs a push to get it near to completion. The poetry collection, alice reimagined, is in progress with some of it written and a shed-load of ideas for the next steps.
Other ideas are on the back-seat at the moment, waiting for attention. And a new idea is emerging (thanks to Gillian) for an edited book with work colleagues that will look at collaboration through the lens of co-creation. If you are interested in this idea please do get in touch.

Why the title? Why 42 updates? Well, it’s the meaning of life, isn’t it!

Sounds like a plan. Let’s begin with an outline
I see I got a mention. Yes keen to get started on our book!!
Thanks Rob – happy to share them once they are done
Amazing that every one of those 40,000 words did not exist in January. And great titles! I’d like to read all three.
